Roles and Responsibilities of Management Committees

This information session will provide members of Boards or Management Committees with opportunities to understand the difference between Governance and Management, their roles and responsibilities and the role of the executive committee.

Tender Writing

This training session will provide a hands-on approach to writing successful tender submissions.  It will explore various parts of the tender writing process beginning with assessing your options to preparing a proposal and finishing with meeting the expectations and managing the contract.

Written tender proposals are important documents. They need to be well written and include some important elements. This workshop will provide you with advice and guidance to writing a successful tender proposal.  It will explore various parts of the tender writing process beginning with assessing your options to preparing a proposal and finishing with meeting the expectations and managing the contract. You will find out what you need to do to accommodate compliance to the published tender requirements and specification, what to read and how to ensure that you understand relevant tender documents and how to clarify details where necessary.

The training content includes:

Budgeting for Tenders

This workshop will present participants with simple concepts that are fundamental in preparing project budgets and give participants a foundation on which to build a solid budget structure.

Many organisations put in tenders, win the bid and then find out that the project has cost them money. This session will provide practical steps to build a comprehensive budget for tenders which reveals all the hidden costs in the process.

The session will also look at the costing v pricing issue and what needs to be considered when putting the final figure on the application.

NSW Interagency Protocol for Responsing to Abuse of Older People

The NSW Department of Ageing Disability and Home Care has recently produced a training program and package to support the Implementation of the NSW Interagency Protocol for Responding to Abuse of Older People. This session is an introduction to the new Interagency Protocol, and consists of two workshops, covering the following topics:

Workshop 1: Identifying and Responding to Abuse of Older People
Target group: Open
Topics: What is Abuse of Older People?; issues for frontline staff in identifying abuse; and how to respond appropriately to abuse situations.

Workshop 2: Implementing the Interagency Protocol in Agencies and Areas
Target group: this session is mainly for supervisors, team leaders and senior staff who have responsibilities in policy, procedures and referral pathways for community care agencies.
Topics: Overview of the Interagency Protocol; principles of response; roles of community care and government response agencies; and policy and procedural requirements for community care agencies.
